I drew this yesterday after I got the email that my degu passed away. My mom told me she had found her under her log and snuggled up to one of the socks I gave her for nesting. She would never tear up the sock she would use them as blankets in her little log house.
I got her 9-10ish years ago with her two sisters. The sisters passed away wayyyyy before she did.
She had a busy life in her cage scratching, chewing, running on her wheel, storing food, and building her nest over and over again. She seemed happy to be on her own and would chirp along with the birds outside.
She was secretive and never wanted to be held.
But that's okay.
I hope you made it up to the big wheel in the sky with your sisters dear Degus.
